Tell that to the warehouse people who drag their feet at every step of the way: getting you checked in, assigning you a door, unloading the trailer, getting your bills signed and returned, and releasing the dock lock.

They expect the driver to keep the appointment time but once you're there they DGAF about your time.

Wait, y’all guys are bashing this dude for being late and think he deserved to be threatened to keep their junk on his trailer for 2 weeks. WTF is wrong with y’all.

What happens if you were in his situation because of a breakdown or traffic wreck etc.
Would you still suck the shipper off and bow down to all their asinine demands?

I don’t know about yall but I work for myself, kinda the entire point of having your own truck. So no shipper, broker etc is gonna tell me what I’m going to do or control how I run my business.

either accept that fact, which it is, or get the hell out of trucking.

breakdown, wreck..?? then call the broker, or the customer.

don't just "show up late", and expect to be catered to.

Don’t you know that as soon as someone retires they’re suddenly perfect? Never late. No accidents. Perfect driver from the day they started. Always treated with respect because they were the utmost professional.

So what happens when you call the customer and they tell you the same answer…reschedule for two weeks out.

And please enlighten me on him expecting to be catered to?
From what I read he patiently waited till middle of the following week trying various methods of resolution.

But hey I’ll never be on your level of perfection and professionalism I’m just not built to be a yes man. I’m the type of guy that will punch someone in the mouth just for raising their voice at me.

I doubt you've been trucking longer than I've been on this earth. How old am I? Sounds more like you've been trolling this site, I mean retired, long enough to have no grasp of modern trucking certainly as an owner-op.

You're comments about him deserving what he got and not knowing how to run a business prove that you are out of touch. And by the way, why are you here? Sounds like you need a hobby. I don't think I'd be on this site every day like you if I weren't in the game. Don't you have anything better to do like a Dr.'s appt or run out to get some Geritol?

Nah, I just quit swinging doors. Waiting time is practically unheard of pulling a tanker in the oilfield.
