    Driver is parked, snow storm hits, driver leaves which leaves a rut. Next driver backs in but is not sitting perfectly in the last guy's rut. Beats on brakes, they release and the truck rolls enough to pin him.

    I'd say it happened something like that.

    A good procedure when parking or dropping trailers after running through snow sleet etc is to do paperwork and kill 10 minutes or so roll forward and backward a few times. it will help prevent freezing brakes ''ive only froze brakes 3 times in last decade doing this in bad weather..a coworker had to go to hospital a few years ago banging on drums due to metal in eye be careful
