Those drivers either need to learn how to manage their finances or find a company that pays better …

When I drove over the road, I parked in Mount Vernon quite a bit as I had a dedicated route (there was no TA Express back then). I parked at the Love's once, but it was too crowded. I did enjoy the Mexican restaurant nearby. Every other time I parked at the Cefco as it was easier to find parking. It was also a nicer facility. I really enjoyed the barbecue restaurant down the road.

I haven't been to that Petro in a long time. Actually just looked at the Google reviews, it definitely looks like a really nice place from the remodeling they did. The bar upstairs especially. According to the TA app, they have 25 reserved spots for $21.06/night....

The tight parking is definitely one reason you won't ever find me parked there. I avoid all those truck stops from Milwaukee down to the Illinois state line, most are tight and infested with the Chicago Volvo crowd. I'll park at the Pioneer in Richfield when in the area...

That $21 a night for reserved parking is in ADDITION TO the normal parking fee.

They did do a pretty good job with the remodel, but I doubt it will stand up to heavy use. They didn't even put in proper stalls - if Im pooping and can see how well you wash your hands there is too much of a gap. The bar is nice, but the food is mediocre. They also made all the spots sight side angles, which beats the heck out of blind side angles, but they didn't change the width of the spots so 1/4 of the spots against the road stay empty all night, as do almost all of the reserved spots, which makes it possible to use most of the center row.

But all of that is moot. I'd happily pay $10 for a safe spot to park and the ability to have a beer or two, but $30 for a dangerous spot and two beers is one heck of a cover charge.

Still undecided and JonJon78 Thank this.

No big loss. I never go there anyway.
Hopefully each location is purchased by a mom and pop operation.

The foreign drivers are pretty frugal either by design or necessity. They won’t pay for parking regardless of cost. I don’t blame them but the alternative they seek is usually a bad spot.

Anyone ever been to the Loves in Zanesville, OH exit 160? It’s a PIA all day long. At night they clog every possible area. 5 deep behind the fuel pumps which puts them smack in the middle of the aisle. A mess every single day.

Back to TA. They have lost the non trucking travelers for the most part. Even they figured out TA sucks. TA could’ve been the ultimate stop for truckers and catered to them but effed that up majorly over the years.
