Travel options to academy

    Buckeye, if you come on board with the flatbedding crew, you will never be based out of Columbus. There are no flatbed driver managers there. I actually started out of Columbus myself on the van side ;)

    Swift does pay for all transportation....home to academy, academy to home (or direct to orientation if they don't have the week gap between like they did when I went through), home to orientation, and orientation back home if the wait is too long for a mentor. I have no idea on the current state of mentors other than I know it's a pretty decent wait on the flatbed side...they're always looking for more people to take the plunge to wear blue shirts.

    Your personal vehicle will be fine at Columbus if you choose to drive there. I like that yard, it's a nice one. I had a pickup truck that broke down at the Memphis yard that I ended up leaving there....four years later it was still on the yard untouched. Memphis is in the ghetto...so there you go ;)
