It has been over eight years since I went through New Mexico and it looks like things have changed. I was going to warn him about the New Mexico permit.

If you are going through St. Louis take I-44 to I-270 EAST (toward Memphis), to I-255, to I-55 to I-70.

Going North or West on I-270 would take you through Ferguson, MO so be careful.

Is this a 10 wheeler? Like the type of tank truck that follows a dump truck and sprays tar or emulsion down on the road? You may be lucky if this pile of junk goes over 50. How are the tires? How long has it been sitting in the hot Arizona sun? If the tires have been on it for any length of time in 100 plus temps, I can guarantee a blow out or 2 or 3...
I would stay on the Interstate if I were you and keep my cell charged. This trip sounds like a nightmare coming. A 31 year old truck? Lots of luck.

^^ what he said. Sounds like a 10 wheeler tar spreader. Probably has a 318 detroit. Can you say "50 MPH" ? And no air ride seat ?
