Warning to all potential employees and contractors considering signing on with Tri-Bros Transportation. These people, and I use this term loosely, will lie to you, deceive you, and cheat you in every way possible. They have learned the game well, but what I say is true and I can provide proof of it. Check out their CSA score. They are in the process of obtaining new dot numbers to hide the fact that they are not fit to work within the trucking industry. They are nothing more than scavengers feeding off unknowing or unsuspecting truckers trying to make an honest living. BEWARE. Anyone desiring proof, email me and I can provide texts directing me to circumvent Federal HOS regulations. I am currently exploring ways to expose their operation to the proper authorities without incriminating myself. As for the money they owe me, well, once again they have screwed over another driver and make their living cheating a real working man. I hope they read and reply to this thread, like I said, I have proof of what I say and have full intentions of exposing them for the thieves and liars that they are.

So basically you're saying that you were asked to break the law , and instead of refusing to
do so you did , and are now trying to find a way to un-criminalize yourself ...
Good luck with that . -
Silvermitts, for your information, you assume I was "asked" to break the law. You are never asked, you are told, with underlying tones of punishment or termination if you fail to comply. This is called duress and it does allow you certain conditions under the law. All of these companies you read about on these forums know how to play the game and not liable themselves with incriminating evidence. It just so happens that Tri-Bros, stupid as they are, instructed me in text form that will be used to expose them for the scab business they truly are. It won't be a case of he said, she said. You'll notice my username is "former trucker". Fortunately, I have another means of supporting myself, that doesn't require me to work for less than minimum wages.
My intent is to make our government aware of the conditions so many cdl drivers are subjected to. You can sit at your computer monitor and pass judgement on people, while in all probability, you work for the companies that perpetrate the underhanded and immoral acts upon a person merely trying to make an honest living and support their families. My guess is you've never even driven a truck.
I see you comment on many posts here. Perhaps, my guess was wrong. Maybe you don't work at all. -
Wish I would have found this thread before I booked a load with Tri Bros.. hauled a double blind for them 2 months ago...shipper gave driver a generic handwritten BOL...receiver, after wasting 4 hours trying to go rent a forklift that would unload the product, did not have a receiver BOL...so my driver made one for them to sign with all the appropriate info...mailed all the paperwork to TRI Bros with an invoice... a month later they call saying they got my invoice but didn't have a receiver BOL...I told them yes they do, it's handwritten...they call back 2 weeks later and say they got NONE of the paperwork and can't pay until they get it...so I tell them the story again and immediately fax everything to them again...called back an hour later and the guy had already left for the day, but the guy that answered the phone said "YES WE GOT YOUR FAX".... I got a check from them 3 days later...deposited it, thought it was a done deal....
today the bank hands me a copy of it and said it didn't clear...so I called back....they said they had stopped payment on the check after they sent it because they didn't think my handwritten BOL was going to work for their customer and that they would have a $500 fine over it...then he said they were trying to avoid a $350 fine over handwritten paperwork...then he said their customer had approved the handwritten BOL and another check was on the way...for the same amount as the first one..
So now I have one check from them that bounced...another allegedly on the way for the same amount, and I now have fees from the bank for depositing a NSF check...I told broker that somebody needs to eat the $39 bank fees and it sure the heck isn't going to be me..he said he can't help me with that....I said I can easily just take it to court locally and recover the original amount of the check, the bank fees and court cost... was told "The company President says go ahead, he will see us there"...
So my warning to other owner/operators is....be ready to get put through the ringer if you book with this company... I have worked with over 50 other brokers and never had a problem, and they all have commented on how thorough and complete my company always is with paperwork and communication, and I absolutely did everything they wanted regarding this load, so I get the impression that this is a company that practices screwing their customers out of every dime possible. -
