thank you for the demurrage info, I was wondering what the special pay consists of. A delay in a day cab(usually used for local runs) would be handled a lot differently as you cannot properly sleep in a day cab.

Just put in my two weeks. Stay away from triangle. You sign an employment contract for1500 dollars if you leave before one year. Guess who will paying it for the next seven weeks. They lied about local and the customer. Been running to Illinois, Indiana and Ohio out 1-4 nights a week or they have no work. I would stay away from quality. Been trying to get a hold of recruiting and retention departments with no sucess.

Sorry for the thread resurrection but...

I've been running out of 768 in Appleton for six months.

I put in my notice and have 10 days left, and can't wait to leave.

    Nothing has worked right.

Good pay weeks are tempered with dreadful ones, and sometimes no work at all.

First time I went out OTR I ended up running for other terminals, or the option was to sit until my dispatcher remembered to look for a load. Ended up being gone a month total, which is way too much for me with a family, and loads within 25 miles of my house every single day of the week. Those are "reserved" for the local guys, despite the fact that those loads were the first ones mentioned when I talked to the terminal manager about where I live, before I ever even drove over to fill out the paperwork.

768 has a lot of Peroxide. I've hauled several Peroxide loads that are split and should include extra stop pay, but had to fight through lies about it being included in the rate, then "not my job to correct it"...on and on.

Were on percentage, and yet don't get breakdown sheets of rates and accessory pay unless we cry and scream about it.

Work on percentage for mystery rates.

    No thanks.

Because we don't get these sheets, I honestly don't know if I ever got the stop pay.

Forget reimbursements for scales and such, I've never seen a single one.

I was also dumb enough to sign a pice of paper saying 1500.00 will be owed when I leave and I honestly consider it a small price to pay. Should I decide to pay it. I may ignore it and see what happens, then hire a lawyer...after all, I've probably lost way more than 1500.00 due to incompetence.

Google "Quality Carriers. Lansing, IL" and you'll likely bring up several headlines of major spills. That terminal is worse than Appleton.

Triangle Transport runs Lansing, Ludington, Appleton.

The same affiliate owner also runs Riceboro, GA, Tampa, and KC.

    Avoid them all.

Honestly, I don't like the entire QC system. Other terminals don't have to give you loads at all. I've been told, "well, we're a corporate terminal, and you're am affiliate driver, so any loads we might have would be for our guys."

So there you sit in Houston 3 days...

I did manage to get loads from other affiliates myself, because I have contacts within those affiliates, but the terminals are very reguinalized, and it's still very difficult to get back near your home terminal when out in "the system".

I appreciate your feedback. Lansing and ludington can blow me. Still waiting on that 1500 dollar bill to show up. Talked to retention and they said I could move terminals and I told the lady they would still charge me. Horrible place to work.

The guy who owned Triangle trans.(Mickey) He owned three, Terminials 767 lancing,Il. 768 Appleton,Wi. 769 Ludington Mi.
767 is now corporately owned, not sure of the other 2.
Which would probably be a change for the better.
@Untamedcountry are you an exp. tanker driver? And looking for regional If so look into QC in Bristol Wi. Union shop there

I actually ended up leaving about a week and a half before the final date I gave them. Seemed like things just got progressively worse, and just...dumber.I never saw the 1500 dollar bill either.

My friend ended up in Tampa at Mickey's "terminal" too. Really crowded, terrible facility in a bad neighborhood, and Mickey's shop was basically a chop shop for junk trucks being cobbled together and sold to whoever was dumb enough to buy them.

Easily the worst job in trucking I've ever had, and I'm glad it's behind me.

I've seen the Appleton trucks running around here and there, but I don't know if QC Corporate took them over out of 768 (Appleton) or not either, and QC moves at glacial speed when updating the website. Corporate coming into Appleton could only be a good thing.

The best week I had was a load to California, which grossed me 1800 bucks. But it was hell trying to get back to anywhere in the Midwest. I ended up getting loads for 709 in South Gate, CA for a few weeks then ended up bouncing from Phoenix into Texas, and worked my way home from there.

At that point I decided I wasn't interested in being lost in "the system" and tried to stay as local as possible, which meant playing hind tit to the local guys until I found another job. Even then I get tossed crap situations and just have to handle them as best I could. I could usually seem the idiocy coming, and would tell them, and it didn't matter.

I don't think I got over 800 take home the last few months I was there, and if I got suckered into OTR the last few months, I'd end up sitting and wasting vast amounts of time everywhere I went.

    Good riddance.

I understand Heniff has a Wisconsin terminal now after buying Dean Brennan Transport, and I've seen Dana tankers running around WI a bunch too, which is pretty new.

Wouldn't surprise me if QC lost their entire foothold in Wisconsin beyond Bristol.
