As was in the military, I am sure there are alot of jokes played on new drivers. Anything as a newbie we should watch for,, an example of one we played out in the Coast Guard..

While out at sea a helo would always fly our mail in, but new boots were instructed to do "mail buoy watch", scanning the ocean for hours looking for something that just wasn't there ... a buoy floating in the ocean with all our mail ,. Believe it or not there was always that boot that called in, " I got a possible contact which appears to be a mail buoy bearing 140 degrees approximately 30,000 yards"..:biggrin_25513:

How about just have them derail the cab to give them time to learn where things are or should be, while I relax til the next load calls in a warm.bed. Or ask them to check the muffler bearings for dryness.

being artillery in the Army we always sent them to the messhall for cherry juice (hydraulic fluid)

our mess sargeant was pretty good at playing along usually.

Don't forget to pick up a HOS EXTENDER logbook ruler at your local T/S.
    Now DOT approved!

Not really - but I get a real hoot from walking around truckstops and pulling the 5th wheel release on tractors while the drivers are sleeping, or showering.
