Before I forget, in order to get truck tag in Alaska, you need to show the 2290 form (tax paid) of the current year, tag is by Alaska DMV in TOK, stop at the Tok scale (without crossing it) and ask permission to go get the tags, you'll get a level 3 inspection and the officer will notify dmv of your arrival and will let you go (with a little bit of luck). Dmv is six miles further on the right, right before the junction to Anchorage.Truck tag cost $331, trailer tag $20. If not 2290, you paid $350 for a 15 days permit.

Hi guys (and gals), its been close to two years since we did this wonderful trip to Alaska, glad i did on 2018, i am looking to do it again this year and to my surprise there is not broker willing to pay more than $2.50 to get there. Seeing that it may be not any load back from Anchorage and Seattle is dead for freight, i am not going to go there for less than i did two years ago. But i am afraid it is gonna be down hill on rates from now on.

I live in AK and haul my own equipment up from oregon. I am lucky to see .72 a mile south for back hauls. I base my rates on $100 per foot of deck for rolling equipment.
