They are starting to haul reefer freight now, according to their ads. Flats, conestogas etc.
-
Yeah I saw that. I'd rather run flatbed myself. I accepted the job offer and I'll start on monday. I'll update this post when I start working there.

Well day one brings possitives and negatives. Possitive side is they have decent equipment, owner operator spec trucks with apu's and refrigerators. Negative side is they pay on 1099 as a subcontractor
(this info would have been handy to have up front). I am seeing alot more of this these days and apparently they don't always offer up that info(as in my case) so make sure you ask if you're uncertain! They do run both reefers and flatbeds and claim to have plenty of freight(don't they all!!!)
So day 1 is in the books I'll post again when I have more info.kickin chicken Thanks this. -
Well we're still sitting here in Las Cruces waiting for our trucks, the deal is they are adding 14 new trucks to the fleet but they are bringing in some of the older employees to switch them into the new trucks and the new guys will get the older trucks.
I think they could have planned it out a bit better but I do not know all of the cicumstances so I will not pass judgement .
The oldest truck is 2008 year model so they should'nt be in too bad of condition as they seem to take good care of the equipment, and they payed us $100.00 for the extra day we have too wait. I'll post more tomorrow when I get more information.
For those who thanked me for this thread you are welcome, I think this is a great forum for information however, it would be nice if some people would stick to posting the facts (good or bad) instead of going into personal attacks. JMTCW.

Well this will be my last post to this thread, my personal opinion is that this company is very unorganized to say the least. I arrived here on Mon. 7/12 only with the expectation of going to work, as of Thurs. 7/15 still couldn't even get a dirrect response to the question "when will we get our truck?",that's because they don't have any in the yard . The story told was they were getting 14 new trucks to add to the fleet and they would switch some of the older employees into those trucks and put us new guys in the older trucks (I'm ok with that). As of 7/15 still no idea when we go to work.
To shorten up the story I'm now home looking for a different job, I cannot justify going to work for a company that can't organize their resources nor be completely upfront about job specifics.
They did pay me a total of 250.00 for my time(100.00 of wich was used to buy my ticket home!)
Bottom line details are this:
They pay .30cpm on a 1099 wich means you pay your own taxes.
If they have a truck ready when you get there you are expected to be out 6-8 wks at a time with 2-3 days off when you get home.
You have to pay for your own job related insurance"have to or you won't get into a truck."
And will be docked 100.00 dollars for failing a DOT inspection if it is your fault you didn't pass.
Triple D Supply is the most unorganized bunch of individuals I've crossed paths with to date.

Just quit these bums. Truck runs so slow. They're never on same page with the brokers, they get loads from. Elogs always failing. Have to keep paper logs, as you run to, back up elogs. Garbage company!

Sounds like a real scum sucking outfit. I'd have walked as soon as I learned about the 10-99 crap. You really do need to do some research on any outfit, BEFORE spending money and time to get to their orientation.
