I can't be the only one on here that may have crazy things going on in our personal family life.

How do you more experienced guys (gals too!) keep your head level while working, when you know your family members back home are struggling and you can't be there to manage it?

Sorry if this isn't the correct forum area.

Hard to focus on your job when other issues are nagging at you. Get them resolved as fast as possible. Family first driver.

It's not going to be resolved until a sibling of mine goes to prison (charges pending). That could take months. My Mama and dad, grandparents want me to go to work at Prime, Inc and do what's best for me. I don't know if I can leave them though man even though I know craps gonna go down whether I'm here or not.

I leave in a week for Prime, and I'm gonna be gone for months. My grandparents are old and my Dad ain't around all the time to make sure they're safe. Mama works out in California.

I'm betting that those folks will get along just fine without you. After all, they certainly survived BEFORE you were born.
Speaking as a senior citizen myself, it pisses me off to have the "kids" think they have to "take care" of me. Of course this is supposing that the home folks are OK mentally, and able to care for themselves physically.
You have your own life to live, it's time to cut those apron strings! They all want you to go, so GO ALREADY!

    Thanks Big Don.

This sibling has wrecked our family. My grandparents aren't the same as they were. None of us are. My grandparents are emotionally wrecked and it's taking its toll physically. Will they be okay eventually? Yeah, I think so. They are both VERY STRONG people.

I guess I feel like it's my job to protect them and the others in my family because I've always been the one to be the strong, hard ### when times get tough. I'm not too much of a man to say that I put on a pretty good poker face.

Thanks again, everybody, for your kind words. I guess I just needed to hear it from a 3rd party perspective. So THANKS! :D

I got stuck in Buffalo, NY when hurricane Sandy passed over when my truck broke down while back home my oldest had to get emergency surgery to remove an ovarian cyst the size of a grapefruit. Wasn't a good time.

Oh man. That's gotta be hard. Hopefully she recovered well and your truck was fixed.

How many days did you lose to Sandy?

Sandy didn't cause much that far inland but lost two days due to DPF issues.
