Who the "F" says we're happy..successful, and we have families....???

I hate everyone equally, I'm always pissed off, I killed my family and fed them to the wolves, and I'm miserable...!!

    But I DO LIKE a Snicker's Bar..!!

Well I was in the same boat as you about a year ago. Had been driving local, work got slow and decided I needed to go OTR for more stability in work. Got hired on as a trainee since I didn't have Class A experience (had only been driving Class B). My wife and daughter were supportive and off I went. Was very hard being away from home and the family missing all of the usual family activities, but I really enjoyed the driving being in different places and seeing new things. By the time training was done and I came home I was missing my wife and daughter a lot, and stupidly decided to call it quits and go back to the local driving. Things were okay for a while for a few months and then she told me they were leaving. Now I am struggling to work local (not much work) and I am having to take care of the house and the animals and don't have the option to go back OTR due to me being the only one here and having to deal with the bills. Enough of my story, but told you that to tell you this... If your relationship isn't strong now that you are there it WILL NOT get better with you gone and if I had the chance to do it over I wouldn't quit to stay local. Yes you need to take care of the family, but you also need to take care of yourself and don't screw yourself trying to save your relationship. Good luck and wish you the best.

I can't count the number of guys I've known who gave up a job they loved, to please their spouse, only to have the spouse leave them within a year. Not just in trucking, but in law enforcement, fire and/or emergency medical workers. Also in other jobs where hubby has to travel for his job.
