You can get the ISX in the KW as well. How did you find the fuel tanks on the Peterbilt? I'm not a fan of the way the hang the tanks by the straps with no cradle underneath. Seems like it wouldn't take much to drop a tank.

Ok, I changed the title, sorry for the confusion, as for Western Stars, I do like the trucks I'm just not sure how hard they are to get parts for, and it seems like they love them up north for logging, and they also come with the Detroit motors which is something I'm looking for also...Pretty stout trucks?

They're pretty tough. The newer ones aren't as tough as the pre-Daimler buyout Western Stars though IMO.

yeah, the ones I've been looking at are around the 04-06 models, found some decent ones with around 500k miles for $30,000 or so which is pretty much my limit

My family has a fleet of michigan special double bottom self loaders and there's every manufacturer in there. I worked with them quite a while and honestly the big variable I found in regards to truck reliability wasn't necessarily the nameplate on the hood but more how the truck was spec'd and how good we kept up on the maintenance. Also having the right drivers lol it's amazing how quickly a bad driver can mess up a truck.

My dad will be doing the driving and he is very curious about his truck, He's currently in a Kenworth but its not necessarily his favorite, The truck may not specifically be spec'd for logging but the company we're going with does a heck of a job creating nice roads in and out of the woods, If it wasn't for having my dad be the driver I probably wouldn't even be considering buying a truck in the first place

Looks nice. I'm guessing you're pulling hayracks and not pole trailers?
