    Honda EU3000 - $2000
Box mounted on frame - $500
    5 gallon gas can - $10
Portable stand up unit - $300
    Ceramic heater - $30
Total cost for rig up - $2840

    1.5 gal's of gas - $6.00
    250 nights a year - $1250

Grand total to rig up and
    run "poor mans APU" for
    a full YEAR - $4090

So for the idiots that "claim" a proper APU is far better, tell me how long it will take you to pay yerself back $8000 after paying your APU off considering the average APU is $12000 by the time its hangin off the truck???

    simon999 and buddyvuk Thank this.

Because there are features.some of us "idiots" have that you seem to ignore.

Can you siply turn you system on and walk away? Knowing that it'll on run when it HAS to.

I CHOOSE not to want to fiddle around with gas. If you feel there's value in it, knock yourself out.

Bit i. The mean time, not everyone is "idiots" because we don't subscribe to your foolishness.

I'll vote for the TriPac. No gas to mess with, runs in cold temps without having to fool with a generator, doesn't run out of gas at 2AM. And yeah, I can leave it running, unattended for long periods. $3000 or so for a rebuilt TriPac is not a bad price.

I've "heard" there is a outfit in LA selling them for $3500, that was today on one of the Roaddog shows on Sirius. Since I have one hanging on the side of my tractor, I didn't really pay attention to the details- sorry I can't help more on that one.

So everyone is an idiot for buying a APU? Just because you chosen the poor man setup, doesn't mean everyone is an idiot. 4k for a poor mans APU is step for me. Also you can pay cash for an APU, that would eliminate finance charges.

    buddyvuk Thanks this.
