After completing time with a trainer and getting assigned a truck, do most companies find a load going by the house so you can get your stuff setup in your truck?

Yep what he said might be a few loads all depends on the company

if they want you to run some loads before they send you home tell them that you would like to get home ASAP because you cant do your job properly with out your stuff

Don't be pushy! just ask if you can go by and they most usually will do it for you

With my husband just starting out, that was something that I was worried about because one of the things he needs to stop by the house for is the CB I am purchasing and having sent to the house (he needs it because some of the shippers/receivers require you to set your CB to a certain channel for instructions as you arrive). I am buying it for him because we do not have the money for him to pay the prices at the truck stops or even for a brand new one so I am purchasing through eBay with the precaution of buying from a seller with a high number of sales and a very high percentage of good versus bad feedback and also making sure the seller is only in the USA.

My company sent me home for a few days after six weeks of orientation for some home time.

    Then I got the truck.

Yes, they will send you by the house, but, you may have to do a few loads first and it might take 2-3 weeks and a few reminders to dispatch. Arrow sent me from Laredo to S.C., then Mo. then Fresno. I was needing to get to Riverside County, Ca.

    Now THERE'S the scenic route!

But in general, yes they will try to accommodate your need to get through home to get stuff, junk, crud, and anything else deemed necessary for you.

(...and the longer you're out here, the more your once-cherished items become stuff, junk, and crud...especially after you change trucks a time or three!).
