Truck driver helps another driver back up, gets crushed and killed.

she needed help backing her tractor up to a trailer..? I'm confused. shouldn't have left the training ground without being able to do that

 

Lol, I was just thinking the same thing. The text on the video says one thing (on many of them), then that same phrase is never mentioned once you watch the video.

 

I've worked at a lot of places that require a spotter when backing up. I've tried telling them how they're creating larger hazards most of the time, but if it's part of their safety procedure, it might as well be written in the Bible. If the spotter knows what they're doing, it can be a big help. But you don't want just anyone spotting for you. If I do have a spotter, I never move the truck unless I can see them, and if they don't know how to get where I can see them, they don't need to be spotting to begin with.

 

Yea but to have or need a spotter for hooking up to a trailer is...well....way out there.
