    Yes that technical school is Mid Florida Tech. The wait list is long, no openings until sometime next year. I can't wait that long. Chinatown always gives great information. Much appreciated.

    hey @Chinatown - getting ready to start CDL school do you think a 360 hour vs 170 hour cdl school can have an impact on getting a better job due to more hours in cdl school+more importantly having more hours behind the wheel of a big rig? My two CDL school choices are JTECH 170 hours vs NFTC (technical college) 360 hours...

    JTech is $3645.00 probably 4 weeks.
    NFTC (technical college) is $3,049.09 for 8 weeks.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Probably both are ok. If you're not in a big hurry, I'd go with NFTC for the extra training and cheaper price.
    I decided to go to TDI. Graduated yesterday. It was a challenge. The instructors were very knowledgeable, but they didn't teach a whole lot. You had to ask questions, otherwise they just sat around. We sort of had to learn on our own or teach each other. I have the basics down, now I hope where ever I go they will help me refine my skills. I can't do OTR and even Regional would be hard right now. I really hope to find something nearby for a new Class A driver.
    TDI schools are really good and you won't have any problem being hired by a high quality company.
