Hi everybody!
I just got my cdl class A after graduated form truck driving school, and now I'm looking for A job locally, over the road wherever, I just need to use my CDL for now!
My questing is do I need to go with trainer otr for weeks?
I have 3 years truck driver experience but NOT IN USA! so I start over again and went to truck driving school and spend about 4k to get my CDL-A .
and now all truck company I tried to contact with, they ask me to go with trainer otr about 6 weeks?
What kind of staff the trainer will teach me for 6 weeks?
How much they should pay me per mile as new driver ?
Looking forward to your reply! with my best wishes,
Bob

Try watkins shepard they have 10day training and you dont have to spend 6 weeks with any company. if you pick in 3 weeks you can run solo.
they teach you everything you need to run solo.
training pay depends on company. could be $375-450 avaerage weekly. -

Every starter company I am looking at requires some time spent with a trainer. Most are 3 to 8 weeks with a trainer before they assign a truck to you. Roehl offers a 13 day with a couple of days off and 13 more days. I don't see anyway around this unless your have verifiable experience. Bottom line is you need to decide how many days out you want to run and pick a company that offers what you want and not by how many days you are with a trainer. Consider it truck driving boot camp.

Rumor is Watkins & Shepard is going to cease to exist by next year. All operations and training is to be rolled into Schneider.
OP where are you from? Where have you done your overseas driving? There are several smaller trucking companies owned by immigrants that will likely get you in a truck without some stupid training. Many pay in the $.50cpm range. But be careful, most are on a 1099 tax status and a larger portion of your pay will be paid in taxes.
The mega trucking companies will all be glad to have you, they may get a tax break by hiring you. But .... they all will put you through the full training. Pay can range from like $.20 CPM to like $.45 CPM or somer where in their. -
