i would say its more unethical to train someone with multiple DUIs while giving them the impression they'll get a job easy once they have that CDL.
that being said, i'm sure there are schools that do this all the time.

I'm also not sure how all the schools are run. i know the one here when i took their seminar on the school said that they require a copy of your MVR BEFORE they sign you up for classes.

 

I would say not a matter of ethics, depending on what a student desires to pull after school the trailers vary. Flats back different than boxes, spreads different than tandems. Doubles and so on, if a school had every trailer to pull they would look like a megga carrier.

 

You do realize that there are only so much that schools CAN ask without getting into legal trouble right? Someone shows up with the money and wants a CDL, they should be trained. The schools are not there to screen for the companies.

 

My oppinon is if you can back a 28 footer up with no problems then you can do it with a 48 or 53 foot trailer with no problems!!

 

Be honest here, how many transmissions do you have experience with? It has taken me over 20 years to say all manuals including split differentials, it is life of learning and one trip out does not make any of us qualified on one type. I would like to see one student split a duplex with a split differential.

Well your dead wrong if you think there is no threat (Wooly Rhino) is correct. I am currently a dispatcher for the company I work for and we have been visited by Homeland Security, CIA and FBI representatives who have taught us the basics for counter terrorism to be prepared for just such a thing as terrorist hijacking vehicles or placing bombs and other things in vehicles. Not going into details but since we go into Washington DC everyday they come and teach us in management so we can pass it down to the drivers. You would be amazed at how many terrorist attempts they stop every year.

And just like the drug industry where drug-lords think up new ways to get their drugs to their destination, terrorists are also doing the same thing. Don't think for one second that terrorism in the states is not real because it is. Your next door neighbor could be a terrorist and you wouldn't even know it. Not trying to make you paranoid but it is true.
