Truck Driving School Paid By Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Funding

Well it would appear the hijacker got hijacked.No matter as long as the info. flow"s in a positive way an helps others.

 

i never tried to hijack, just wanted to get out the info i had about wia and how it helped me....maybe should have started my own thread

Well not to happy this weekend, never heard from Dep. of Labor guy about school, called again on Friday an got same mess. that it was full, so i called other number and spoke to someone and she said she would go to his office and let him know i had been trying to call as he had asked, she took my number, and i waited and waited and nada..........Not a HAPPY CAMPER......

 

sorry to hear that joe....anything new ? i just got back after 7 days off, and spent most of my time @ the icu as my step moms liver is failing so it wasnt as good a vacation as i had hoped but i am glad i was there

 

WOW, that"s deep, sorry to hear that, lost an uncle to the same thing but he did it to himself with the booze, hard core drinker.
No change on my end, and can"t rely get much done with this weather, i"m on long island south shore and we got hammer"d with 14" of snow, 30+ m.p.h. winds, an single digit temp."s with wind sub zero temp."s. So with Monday being holiday an storm going all day Tues. into 2day not a lot done.

 

But then where your at i"m sure it"s not 80 degrees an sunny.

 

Just wanted to hop in on this thread and share the good news that I got a call today letting me know WIA funding is going to pay for $3,000 out of the $3700 cost for my CDL-A school, which is awesome.

It wasn't easy as I had to present them with all kinds of documents, write an essay to them explaining why I wanted to move into this career, and then get multiple pre-hires... still, the whole process took only a couple of weeks and I should be good to start class within the next couple of weeks.... then it'll be time to put everything in storage and head up to Williston.

That"s good to hear, but you left out details, where did you go to get the ball rolling?. What state are you in?. Why is the whole thing not being paid for?, as my understanding is that it should be...ect...These are the thing"s people want to know.
