truck driving

It's getting worse out there,I'm like you I'm not a trucker (yet) but I've been with this company for 13 years and I tell you there's hardly no spirit left there anymore because of the way management treats everybody,it's sickening almost.
All this discipline talk you hear all the time and rules rules and more rules we figured out the only way to play is to play by their rule game.
Used to (I'm in maintenance) we 'd knock a job out and maybe take a few shortcuts to help "them" out,needless to say we play by their rules now,if something is broke down now and holding up production we expect everything to be locked out,tagged out,hot work permits,work orders etc etc etc.
You'd be surprised how irritated they get all of the sudden if you actually do everything by the book they created when the chips are down.

But I'm with you man I'm ready to get out of this crap,I know truck driving has a lot of rules and regs. too and your certain individuals you deal with,but I like the idea of working by myself,I'm a loner anyway but with a family though.
I figure after or hope after a year or so OTR with a clean record the trucking world kinda opens the doors a little wider,maybe a job where I could be home with my family few times a week.

you've had 15 jobs at the age of 24? just want to make sure that's not a typo. are you sure the problem isn't YOU rather than the 15 places you've work for? most trucking companies won't hire someone with more than 3 jobs in the last 5 years. also, your last sentence doesn't make any sense.

 

What kinda work have you been doing?
15 jobs when you're 24 does sound like a lot,lot of companies may frown on that if they see that.

 

You don't want this type of Job, 15 jobs at age 24, you sail threw alot, and if you are having that much trouble cause of managers , wait till you drive OTR ( over the road ) your Fleet Manager is another boss, and if you are having trouble listening to mangement , then this is not a career choice for you also.....Don't run away from your problems, and create new ones.....

 

I think you're missing the whole point here. Your record speaks for itself unless you can explain why you have such a problem with managers. You asked the group which is the best company to work for so I'll tell one that I believe has great benefits and great pay. Any major oil company hauling their own product. Your chances of getting hired onto one of those = 0.
