Truck Financing Questions ?

Yes, there are companies out there for bad credit but you will have to have a good down payment, about 5k will get you in the door. You will get a late 90's to early 2000 model truck with 500 to 1 mil on the miles. The price will be about 25 to 30k and you will get financed inhouse on a 3 year note with payments about a $1000. Not the best, but not the worst. I know a few places that do that but i cant advertise on here because ill get in trouble ( happened before ).

If you go to any truckstop, pick up a truck paper and you will find those dealerships im talking about all day long.

I have seen some of those companies equipment and I'm not so sure I would want to pay for it for 3 years for something that I just don't want. I know we all have to start (again for some of us) somewhere, but it would be ince if they were offering O/O spec'd trucks that weren't s beat up.

 

Seems to me an O/O spec'd truck is just one that hasn't benefitted from all the research that goes into building a profitable fleet.

 

That isn't totally true. You can keep the fleet drive-train spec's, hence, fleet efficiency while adding o'o interior specs.

stuff like dual power windows, locks, leather, power mirrors, cabinetry, ect.

these items are a one-time cost/buy that will not sink your bottom line year after year and mile after mile...

and they will make your life nicer and more comfortable for the one time expense.

An extra 2 grand now is less than a dollar a day or only 2/10th of a penny per mile to be happy instead of frustrated.

now if you had a large fleet and didn't care if the driver was happy or sad??? you'd probably want that 2g in your pocket ???? as every 50 trucks you buy you'd be getting one free???

but as an individual it makes sense to upgrade these items... especially sense as an owner driver you "care" if you are happy or sad...

 

Let's not forget that some of the company equipment has small sleepers, only 1 air ride seat, minimum gauges, minimum power, minimum specs all around. Also depends on where the "Fleet" was spec'd for. A lot of fleets only spec for the midwest flat lands, and if you reeally run OTR and through the mountains regularly, you really need more power. Do you really need 650, probably not unless you haul Heavy Hauls. But we all want a GOOD truck, especially if WE are going to pay for it. That is why an O/O spec'd truck is what WE buyers are looking for. We have limited funds, especially in the beginning, so we look for the best match for our needs.

 

That makes sense. I guess I'm just worried about the guys that get sharp looking trucks that only get 4 or 5mpg. Seems like business suicide. I know I'd look for 7 or more if possible, even if it means midroof instead of condo, and I'm 6'7" !
