Just a couple more fixes. And I should be back to road speed for more than a few hours. No major fixes. But at one time I was looking at a new one box. Im glad that didn't happen. And just in time for spring.

Glad your getting your wagon back together. I've been working on mine for the last 3 weeks and I just finished up with my final repairs tonight. Going for a test drive tomorrow and then back it under my step deck and hit the road.

Yeah man. I'm not that worried about fuel prices. I've made preparations to be able to weather the storm no matter how long it lasts. I know exactly what my cost to operate is and I know my fuel cost to a "T". I just wish everyone else had done it too but there will be plenty of O/O's go out of business and then there will be some cheap equipment for sale again.

I can't get a solid number. I'm guessing because I'm to new. But it keeps changing.
I do only have 7 months experience. But the fluctuation is driving me crazy. Plus over this time I lost about 6 weeks do to on again off at in stomach bug. I add those numbers in and I'm just sunk.

Mechanical issues can put you out of business too. I'm trying to stay positive to what I put in will pay off. I'm spending a lot on maintenance.
But I hope I'm moving forward.

Maintenance and mechanical cost can eat an owner operator alive. With all of the information that is at your fingertips these days you can save some money by performing as much maintenance as you can yourself. Be proactive and do good inspections on your equipment. Catchings potential issues early can really save the pocketbook.

Spending a lot on maintenance was the best thing I ever did. Just prioritize. I was putting 15-20% into the truck every week for 6 weeks. I was hungry a. Few times nd th he stress was tough. But we made thru to the other side. Also don't be afraid to travel for parts. Sometimes 100.00 price difference is worth talking a load some where..
