Senator Grassley, of Iowa, said he was on a conference call today and that as many as 100k hogs per day for an extended period will be euthanized soon.

Good afternoon fellow drivers, long time reader, finally decided to register. Your mention of Schneider got me ticked off so just wanna give my take on this. Schneider dont need any help from uncle Sam. They screw us enough, and i can tell you, having booked a load recently with them on a $2 per mile, which i thought was decent, was a rip off. Load was a state of Mass load and had a their rate. Brokers cut was 60% and i have all docs and rates to prove. So, trust me guys, they will be fine.

Load originated from central ILL heading to Mass, 1000 miles, booked for $2000. Let them keep telling you that 20% is what they take.

Lets not allow these rates to keeps up down, cuze this week is good, next one will suck!

Pork plants keep shutting down because of CV19 cases. Some farmers were having trouble getting their hogs to market before all of this began.

.........”3.5 million truck drivers.....15.5 million trucks....”

mhm. Must be the same people doing the math on this stimulus project. “ $8m for Harvard, $10m for Ruth’s Chris, oh you’re a one truck chuck: we’re outta money”

I'm out on a run today. First load I've done since the 10th. It's only because it's for a really sweet lady that's always been fair to me.

Because I had to deadhead a ways to get the load, which under normal circumstances I don't, I'm making a whopping $1.67 all miles. But at least helps to keep my backing skills in place :) And gets me out of the house for awhile.

I went out Monday for a small broker run and did great. Tuesday got screwed on a backhaul but it was better than nothing. Wednesday (today) got screwed by XPO's disorganization so I'm making $350 gross for a full day's work which should've taken half tops. $1500 for the week minus expenses and headed home. It's about what I made as a part time night driver for 10 years but there's food on the table.

Meanwhile I am getting $962 unemployment per week...
Heck even any 18 year old shampoo girl getting $760 in my state right now. Why do you keep running, I don't get it.
Yes, if you are in Midwest trucker shoes you gotta work while you can, but if you are an one man show, it's better to sit now, than to run
