Truck Load Rates Halt 8 Week Slide 2.0

I stepped foot in to PA this week. Mistake. Shoulda known when I stopped at the J in Hagerstown for a nap and coffee yesterday afternoon. I was woken up by the beeotchonwheels propaganda lady loud as hail on the loudspeaker way out in the back lot, “Drivers who enter the store without a mask will he asked to leave. We cannot serve you”. I just skipped fuel and made coffee in the truck.

BS. I thought about calling corporate but I didn’t want a free pass into their overzealous drama. I have not heard of this crap anywhere else. EVERYONE up here in the York area is wearing a mask. Everyone. BS. I don’t have a mask, I don’t need a mask, I have yet to wear a mask.

Happily headed south today where life has mostly returned to normal. Pilot lost a sale.

 

Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but our trips and our rates are starting to really jump.

Sorry. I'll go punish myself now.

California is hot. LA market. Evidently today, on DAT and Truckstop.com. I wish I was there...with a reefer.
Instead, I am committed to the loads I pre booked earlier.

While waiting on one of those loads, I re-watched an excellent movie "The conversation" with Gene Hackman. Boring on the surface but great watch. People in the 70s were speaking with such an elegant diction, at least in movies. Language culture evolved into something else. Gene Hackman never used a word "phone", he used the word "telephone". I think "phone" is a sloppy version of "telephone"
