People are fed up with the lock down. I went to a BBQ last night held by the family of my son in law to celebrate the upcoming arrival of our first grandson, and there were about 50 of us sitting around chatting for hours, not a mask to be seen anywhere. Many elderly people there as well, my parents included (both in their late 80's), and nobody cares any longer about the perceived risk because life for them isn't worth living if you're locked away from friends and family. We all agreed that if we're likely to catch this virus anyway, we aren't going to die in some ICU with a window between us and our loved ones, or spend our remaining days separated from them either out of fear.

There's a truck stop at MM 102 on 40 in NM ( ambest w/ McDonald's, casino ) still fully shut down. Won't even let you inside to use the bathroom. They close at night, and have the mask thing way, way over blown.
I went to get coffee at 0330 before I left, and two employees and the security guard wouldn't let me in, but all were standing in a little circle, a foot apart...……..none wearing masks.
Do as I say, not as I do. -
You must have impeccable timing
I pulled CONVOY's posted loads Van/Reefer from the Bay Area to Portland, OR for Monday, with a couple of hundred mile radius, and I don't see anything remotely close to $3.00 a mile, let alone $4.00

I have a good friend who's a professor at a S. Georgia university. He's been in "self-quarantine" since March the 8th. He's pushing 70, in good health, but because of a bout with Legionnaires Disease several years ago, he's uncomfortable being in crowds at this time. He told me he still gets out and rides his bike and walks, but he doesn't go into stores or anything like that.Dale thompson Thanks this.

Do mega carriers pull produce out of CA? That’s probably a silly question to many of you, but does most of the capacity hauling the high dollar produce come from the spot market? Or, when your loading you see megas everywhere and we just catch the spillover?

Same way in my area. Cheap, heavy beer and water loads. Bottom of the barrel freight.Scooter Jones and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Almost all gone as soon as I posted that. Still a couple heading east, but all of the northbound loads are gone. There was one reefer beer load starting in Van Nuys to Fairfield, Seattle, back to Fairfield then back to Seattle for over three I was considering, but it went fast. Timing is everything.
Scooter Jones and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
