No, really, they were scrumptious! The new Lemon ice cream by Umpqua Dairy is off the hook!

I need to find a way to broker, plan or dispatch trucks from my home. And make a decent living at it, of course ;-)

My OTR trucking lifestyle has completely run it's course...

Be like every second thread on this sub forum. Least you’d have a reasonable understanding of what it is you’re doing n what you’re up against.

Do it. I would in a heartbeat if I wanted to be home. I might someday too. You know enough.

I still like to travel. I spent almost 10 years being home all day every day when I worked nights. I got so caught up and bored being home I'm still 'over it' almost 10 years later.

Life is a series of cycles. Every now and then change is good. Nothing has to be forever.

The one year I worked on the inside of a trucking company I was convinced I could plan, coordinate, dispatch, etc, from my house.

The owner was insistent on the "team" working together in the same office and environment. Which I couldn't stand. So I moved on.

The irony is that all those same people are now working from their homes due to COVID-19. As are just about every office support, broker, accounting, etc, person I speak to these days. And it seems to be working just fine.

Amusingly, we never stopped coming in to the office. Got jobs to do. Easier to do it from work.

And you could wear pajamas, sit on your backyard deck and watch birds while doing it. I could even let my friend Jack Daniels to give me a hand with it too. Well... sometimes. Sounds better than good. Almost Heaven.

On the serious note, I've been pushing hard. I am running on the recaps this week and the next I'll do recaps too. I'm pre booked until next Thursday.

    currently
    IA - PA - $2550 - 1020 miles
picked up yesterday - got home en route for 20 hours (typing this at home now, then I'll mow the lawn and off I go)

    over the weekend:
    PA to OH - PA $1700 - 360 deadhead + 405 loaded (765 all miles)

    Monday - Wednesday
    PA - ME - $1650 - 615 miles
    ME-NY - $1300 - 641 miles - Wednesday night delivery.

Still able to fuel under 2 dol per gallon here in Illinois, which after the fuel tax it goes down somewhere below 1.40 per gallon. Using Fleet One Edge,

Actually, I've been fueling mostly at the TA in Hampshire, IL which is close to where I park my truck. There I actually use my Comdata card (not Fleet One Edge) which is linked to Schneider Discount Fuel Program where I get 28 cents off the cash price at all TAs and Petros - all the time. That TA has had good diesel lately, which is good because before it did have that yellowish bio diesel blend so common for all of the Illinois.
This Fleet One Edge is good for anything else but often the discounts fluctuate. Sometimes they are outstanding, the other times mediocre. It is financed by the Wrex bank, so it is a poorer version of NASTC card - I wonder if they change the discounts too.
