@Dino soar, I really have no idea how this is all going to affect my little 1 man dog & pony show.
I'll just keep booking 1 or 2 loads (at the most) at a time. Provide the best service I can for the best negotiated rate I can get.

Just remembered about this pic. Two years ago I had a dedicated run from MI to GA every Monday, was bringing a restaurant supply toilet paper. One day receiver refused three boxes due to them being damaged a bit. I dropped off those boxes at my parents house.
Visited them today and they still have one unopened box, they are good for another year haha
HopeOverMope, Scooter Jones, PPLC and 2 others Thank this. -
Whatever happened to a good bar of lava soap? That’s what my Dad always used. What did people do before TP? Can one not use a wash rag and wash it afterwards? I don’t see washing machine soap sold out? Any WW2 person alive would call us all a bunch of sissified sheep that doesn’t know our ### from a hole in the ground when it comes to a real crisis.

I think I want to be a wolf now.... I'd sell them $9.99 per roll.

I would bet $1000 that any of us evil opportunists would give the shirt off our back to anyone truly in need. Doesn’t matter who you are or where your from. Enough said IMO.

Or like those heroes in the 8th air force daylight bombing day after day against ridiculously low odds. And earlier in the trenches of France and Belgium?
Those national traits have been built over centuries though. It's hard to imagine it but I'm sure if it really came to it those values are still there buried deep.
I'm English and our current generation is so different in make up and values from those of Churchill's finest hour there seems no similarity but we still walk around like we own the place and dont really want it arrogantly looking down our noses at everyone .
All this is talk time, only when the talk stops and reality grips will my theory really be tested but I doubt the US would be found wanting. -
I admit that I was out of line bringing up the WW2 to this thread. There is no comparison, at this point at least, between the level of significance of that event and the current situation. I'd even say that trying to that is on a verge of travesty.
I tried to stir up some deeper reflection in these poeple as I also believe that the values are somewhere in them covered by a thick dust.
I was frustrated and aggravated by their complete indeference in seeing nothing wrong about speculating and taking advantage of fear, naivete, or whatever there is.
Maybe I can be called a hypocrite as I will also try to negotiate the best rates this week but there is a difference between shameful profiting and a reasonable business transaction.mladen86 and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
I do take your point and it's well made, but right now this is all talk and bluster defending the indefensible. In a few weeks realities will change these views. Its likely that more people will see your line of reasoning then than perhaps they do now.
Like a lot of people I've always laughed at preppers as gullible types. I'm not laughing quite so loud now, barely chuckling in fact.clausland and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
####, no. Won't hear that from me. Get what you can get, man.86scotty Thanks this.
