Sure is quiet around here. No belly aching about rates or anything ;-)

Is it me or do truckers seem to be driving faster these days?

Maybe the brokers should go to Washington and belly ache about needing new laws to cap truckers rates? Only seems fair now, right former belly achers?

Two months out of 30 don't make it fair nor enough to say the tables were turned yet. Not that bellies are quite full yet either. Maybe brokers are enjoying this too...are you not?

Besides, think of the many small carriers like you who went under by May, thus creating the lebensraum for others now.

Here's a good one for ya

When Stevens took out my dad's hood 3yrs ago, day after Xmas, what a nice gift lol. Took em like 2 months before they settled, don't remember how much. (back wages included they fought tooth n nail not to) took off through new years and on the 1st we snagged an ex nemf hood for 900. Lots and lots of beers and elbow grease she was back on the road 4 days later

If you know anything about painting you know it has to be at least room temp to set and cure right. Our garage is an old 28x40 horse barn. Deff not heated and drafty. Torpedo heater and few propane tank heaters and blocked off a small section.

Turned out pretty good for us both high as hell off carbon monoxide lol

Hardest part was us getting the darn thing aligned getting it on. Added some reinforcements, quite a bit of fiber glass, compared to today's stuff it's a beast

I always laugh at those peloton exercise commercials, guess what my reload tomorrow is. Really really surprised that their manufactured in the US. Good on them for that. No idea the price but in my mind that justifies it a bit more

"It's all we've got in it."

There are swings of up to $2000 in minutes on loads right now.

Last night I watched a load on Convoy for a couple hours that didn't get covered. Their biggest problem was that it was 990 miles, and it was 2 drops with the first drop 2 days after the pickup, and the last drop was 6 days after the pickup. So the driver would have spent a weekend sitting in a truck stop, and that's not appealing for a lot of drivers, especially when there is a lot of good paying freight out there. It started at $3.25 a mile, and an hour before the pickup appointment it went to $5.30 per mile. I had just gotten home and needed a reset, otherwise I would have done it, but what a ride watching that thing go up. Now they have it back up with both drops on the same day 2 days after the pickup at $2.40 per mile. I'll be watching it.

Same happened to me this morning. Broker called pleading with me to take a load at $5 per mile, and I told him I was on a reset and turned down one worth more just hours before. It's the wild west out there right now. I just wish there were more better paying loads heading back to Cali. I lucked out this week going to Denver, and had one of my best weeks ever, but I lucked into a back haul. I see a few $3+ loads going to the east coast from Cali, but getting a load back is a crap shoot. Not worth the risk to me.

I'm content as a Lark. Barbeque hamburgers and all the fixins for dinner by my wife...again. Don't have to get up and leave the house until 8 in the morning.

Booked through Monday of next week. I've managed to continue my current streak of getting home every day so far this month.

August is shaping up to be another good month.
