My sense is if an owner operator hasn't done well the past couple of mos, well, you catch my drift.

 

Think right now u can pretty much throw a dart blindfolded and make money, sure is alot easier than it was in march and april

 

Just as I thought of coming home for a few days to rest and take care of things - I do have some AC problems: it is cooling so so while driving but not good enough while idling - at about 6 pm there was $3800 (why so much...IDK!!!) load on Coyote load board from Illinois to Virginia near Richmond (845 miles) - I bid $4000 and ... WOW! WOW! WOW! they gave it to me. Maybe I should have bade $4500? So...despite all the discomfort and #####ing about this and that, you gotta do the right thing and pick up and deliver the load now. I don't mind sweating for the right money.

Just as I thought I was out...they pulled me back in.

Will I ever get back home for more than one night?

However, to a random or accidental onlooker of this thread, I must say this:
Please do not think for a moment that this is normal...this will change and by the time you buy your truck ... the ship will sail off and it will be over.

Man, Joe. You'll probably be up to 30k dollars in revenue (for August) by the end of this month. Way to go.

 

About 26 - 27K on 10 500 miles (deadhead + loaded). It is just running and running like a dog with a tongue out.

 

There is a general shortage and deficiencies of all kinds of goods, perhaps except food. Lets see, things like: Camping tents, surfboards, kayaks, weights to lift, bicycles,pajamas, cleaning products (at least those that my wife likes to use), blood pressure monitors, body temperature thermometers, building materials, appliances, auto parts...what not.
What is in a good supply though...is people with money ready to spend and World using USD for most international exchanges. In addition to all that, we can foresee overlapping of Thanksgiving and Christmas usual volume spikes.
Before things will get caught up, we will have a lot of running to do. Like dogs with tongues out...
Well...just don't get sick and don't let your trucks break down.
