Awesome. No wonder your in such great spirits lately. Things are good! I’m sorta wondering if your wife hadn’t been slipping in some happy pills in these killer meals though. Maybe a get hard pill or two also to get a smile on her face. lmao

New drivers not entering market because of bmv closures and school closures. Foreigners who spill in by the bucket fulls can’t come in. Older drivers continuously retiring or working less. Many many drivers riding the unemployment couch.

Huge backlog of freight even with certain leaning states trying to stay closed. Consumers with cash are gonna consume. Between stimulus and massive unemployment federal cash, plenty of money to go around.

    Demand high, driver pool low.

Rates react accordingly. I won’t say up or down, those of us doing it know.

I have now performed rocket surgery. Please now shower me with thanks as I’m dirty dirty.

You're doing good: 6428 thanks in two years! Outstanding! :D

The last two months were outstanding too. Just need to keep up with the tempo now. I am actually glad there is poor market for drivers, It means less trucks acquisitions. I hope the CDL schools won't produce too much fresh meat for megas either.
I am an egoist and hypocrite. I don't want to expand into fleet and I don't want others do it either...

These currents rate are not to become a milioner rates either. Let's just say it is a good reward base for an effort, risk and sacrifice an owner operator must undertake as compared to a company driver. I mean this should be normal. I am afraid of an outburst of enthusiasm and euforia that will change it back to the mediocrity sooner than we think.
But too many may think it is so great that they will add trucks and drivers so I stand behind what I said earlier - I don't want any capacity increase.

I think if anybody has a decent job right now they'd be insane to become an owner operator. Or to add trucks.

It's okay right now. But that's right now. Everyone needs to tread lightly.

This is an election year. We have gone through a pandemic which we are still in, and the economy is still fragile.

Depending on the election and other factors there's a lot of uncertainty. And there is a lot of social unrest right now and things may not be as stable in the future. That's all I'm going to say, I don't want to get political.

Things could be okay or they could get incredibly worse.

Not the time for huge capital investment, especially if you have to take on any debt.
