Today, on DAT I see obvious rate increase. It took them a few days to readjust.

Look now. I woke up this morning in my own bed with my wife beside me.
I feel different now, my mind clear, and I was thinking that there is a substantial difference between the street stand peddler (ptfu!) and us compromising our families left at homes (those long lines at gun stores are not very comforting) going through random places and meeting random people, unable to be certain, if another day will be normal (for instance, who can assure me, I'll be able to buy diesel somewhere 1000 miles from home?)

So I officially think that you and I should squeeze the shippers/brokers from the last drop of blood. They can increase the price tags, if they have to. Money, nothing else, is how they say thank you and show appreciation.
I was thinking what they would have to pay me to go that WM DC in Hermiston, OR from Nestle, in DeKalb, IL..they offer $4 000. How about $8 000? And this is not price gouging!

The rate increases are due to inventory imbalances. These were created by a sudden virus mania not by a natural increased propensity to spend as it is always the case when the economy is doing good. The stimulus hand outs won't help here much...who wants the supply of toilet paper for more than a few months or sanitizing soap? This means that once they are balanced, there will be no need for capacity. We will sit idle. Then, at that point, perhaps, I will apply for my unemployment benefit and be on the receiving end of it for a change.
I banned TV news channels at my home for today.

    Third and last thought.
They may be deffering taxes, bills, mortgages, utility bills....
Is it fair for someone like me, who paid all that ahead of time, to have nothing out of this relief? How about they give me back the Cook County Property taxes that I paid on time a few weeks ago and defer them until the virus mania is over. I'd sure feel better having 5 grand of cash more on hand.

    PPLC Thanks this.

If ever, this is actually is the time when this profession may account for something glamorous.
Apart from the very medical aspects, such as what happens exactly to you when you get Covid-19 illness and how your human body will be able to handle it, I worry way more about about leaving my family at home alone in a town that is close to the city known for all the violence and gun shot victims every day.
I do want to think when I am out there working, all the law forces and institutions such as THE National Guard are ready to step in, preventing looting, riots and all other criminal acts. I can imagine there is a lot of bad people just waiting for their moment too.

Just had to answer a questionnaire at a shipper facility regarding Covid-19.

Questions like, do you feel sick, traveled out of country in last 14 days, been around anyone that has, etc. Made me sign a form attesting to my answers.

I did, but had my fingers crossed behind my back :)

Well, I was sheltered in place at the shipper. I could only open my trailer doors, but had to remain in the truck at all times.

They did tell me I could use their nasty porta-potty. I was like WTF? I'd rather crap in my on truck garbage can with a fresh scented bag then to do that!

Talk about potential exposure to the Coronavirus Chinese Wuhan flu!

Car factories are shutting down, their suppliers will most likely stop too. Lots of trucks will be sitting because of that

Domino effect right before our eyes. It's like watching those YouTube videos of the last Tsunami that hit Japan.
