Received this text from my best friend this morning. He is a chaplain at a LARGE hospice care company which has facilities all over the nation.

"Did it 3 times Monday with temp taken as I hit 3 different facilities. Now chaplains and social workers are prohibited at 3 of the 6 facilities we serve (nurses only allowed). Family visitors also being prohibited. With all the cuts to spiritual, social, family support, it's a setup for a host of problems for patient and families."

I figure that reefer will be strong until the grocery stores get caught up,then probably nose dive. The places that I pick up at have less than 50 employees. One just built a addition that increased the building by about a third. I don’t know how they are going to do in this, all their product goes to restaurants.
Another is coming of their slow season. They are in a little better position. I’d say 20% of their product is sold retail.

The car companies shutting down is devastating. Remember when GM has their little strike and it took out several big companies. Pretty much is going like I expected though. A spike in rates followed by a crash in rates. If drivers get sick across the board or fuel can’t deliver there will be massive spike back to the other side though.

I’m glad I live out in the country yet still close to suburbs. I’m glad I got plenty of cash out of the bank and at least a fridge and pantry full of food. I’m thankful that I have guns and ammo for said guns.

Tomorrow I’ll be filling my 500 gal fuel tank and have procured another 3000 gals of capacity plus a DEF tank.

Doing everything I can to try and be prepared to keep my family fed and safe, and my companies and it’s employees working and making a living. Glad I don’t factor right now more then ever.

I did a cross town jaunt today (Wixom to New Baltimore) almost no semi traffic on 696 on the way back going west thru the 696-m5-96 junction at 5:30 never slowed down.

This was at the 7 feathers truckstop in Canyonville, OR an hour ago.

Trucks lined up in the fuel bays and overflowing onto the main road both ways. 2 employees directing traffic.

Traffic is unusually heavy, not only with big trucks, but with cars out here.

So much for self isolation and hunkering down at home.

You know, I was thinking about the factoring conundrum this morning. I've resisted using factoring for 5 plus years.

Never been burned. However, with the current climate, I'm leery of extending credit right now to some of the smaller brokerages.

I developed a hairline crack on my coolant expansion tank.

Called the dealership where I bought the truck and asked for my discount price on an after-market one BEFORE I talked to the service underwriter.

Told them I'd swing by in the morning and have them change it out. Turns out they were able to take me in today. Sweet!

The 2nd shift underwriter tried to sell me an OEM tank for $250 more. But I busted him LOL

Get the oem one, the aftermarket will last you only few months if that. When it breaks while you are on the road, it will cost you much more to replace.
I don't even know why Volvo even sells them, it's absolute junk.

Well, little too late now. I've got a buddy who installed the aftermarket one a couple years ago. No issues so far.

    Wish me luck ;-)
