Under $2 per mile? I'd rather do a quarter of those miles each month and make more. Not to mention you'd be gone at least 2 weeks on every run. Every truck I see hauling mail is generally some beat up old piece of crap held together with bailing wire and duct tape.

Caught a pretty good wave this week.
Monday to Monday will be, 2 nights out, 2,650 all miles $8,100.
So long as something doesn't happen to throw a wrench in it, that's a decent start to December.
Since it appears my choice for the big office isn't going to be there after January 20th, I've had a heightened sense of awareness that I need to work a little harder and store up as many nuts as I can going into 2021.
Tight capacity in the market is helping that along.Dino soar, Truckermania, Midwest Trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
You guys keep talking about freight, but here is how I feel right now, watching the ####show everyday, remembering crazy 90's in my politically unstable Eastern European country after the Soviet Union collapse

This distance is covered in 3 days each way by a healthy team . Best suited for a committed wife and husband (owners and operators) team...if they don't quarrel too much.
1. Power Only. Quick Drop & Hook --- if it is.
2. U.S. Mail - yes, it may be a consistent year long contract.
3. Potential revenue of $42 400 per month on 21 600 miles should leave enough to amortize truck's wear due to the high mileage. It is a substantially different matter when you run $2 per mile on 2000 miles per week and $40 000 on 20 000 miles per month.
This job could either cement the marriage or break it too. LOL
Which is to say that my major concern would not be the profitability but a mental break down of doing this for months on end.Last edited: Dec 2, 2020

I also would like to try some gold mining in Sierra Nevada. Maybe they left some nuggets from the old days.PPLC and Scooter Jones Thank this. -
@TallJoe & Scooter spotted on their inaugural coast to coast team run. As you can see, we had to add some paying passengers in order to supplement that cheap $1.97 a mile postal freight!
Truckermania, TallJoe, Dale thompson and 2 others Thank this.
