I read an article on DAT this morning about the container ship backup on both coasts and how there is going to be an available truck shortage in the coming weeks. It said that ships have to anchor 8 days off of the SoCal coast to get unloaded, and many ships are diverting to the east coast because of the delay. I think we're in for a busy summer.

I'm on a $5.50 per mile (on 710 miles) Walmart load right now and it's only 10 pallets of bottled water. Things are getting crazy again. It gives me second thoughts about retiring this year, although some of my stocks are going through the roof too. I've got no complaints.

I don't care about rate per mile or profit per mile any more.I even stopped tracking it.
At this stage, I know exactly what net my lanes can yield based on gross. I have an array of a dozen lanes with a low likelihood of going beyond its scope.

What matters to me is the profit and loss sheet accruing with every invoice sent and every expense made. For that, I really like Quickbooks synced with my biz bank account and credit card. It gives a thorough look of financial dynamics.
As long as Ca pays 10 grand to east coast, things cannot be bad.

I wish to downsize my array to half a dozen (it is six, right?) or less and eventually became another @Scooter Jones of Chicagoland.;)

I gotto be home more often and eat my wife's food at this point of my life, that's all.

We need to get @PPDCT back in here with an update. He’s been pretty quiet. :)

I think he's lurking. I was thinking about this the other day. He probably hasn't had much to say because of all the stupid threads in the broker's section here on how crooked brokers are and how they are thieves (eyeroll). There's been very little intelligent conversation in this forum for a couple months. In fact, there really hasn't been much conversation at all.

Guys are too busy making money right now to complain about rates or brokers it seems.

I have no complaints, I'm getting ready to head out for a full day of fishing with 2 of my sons.

Little of column A, little of column B. We had a record month as a company, despite overall percentages being down. The last batch of new hires are actually solid.

I try not to weigh in too frequently on the "brokers suck", threads, etc. Conversely, seems like everyone's pretty happy over here with the coin they're making. As for me, I'm just keeping an eye on my crystal ball, and trying not to overcommit with any of my customers, because seen some good burners this past month.

Do have a bit of a vacation lined up- flying back home to Kentucky to visit the family on Wednesday, be gone through Tuesday.

Nice work man. And that’s great you get to go back home. I didn’t realize you are from Kentucky. No wonder you’re good people.
