Let's petition for banning diesel discounts, tire discounts, parts discounts, etc. All of us should have the same costs in the spirit of 'leveling the playing field'.

Btw, if any of you guys have not changed insurance for a while, you might want to shop around.
I have been with the same agency for 3 years, 0 claims, got a renewal quote from Great West for $42.5k.
Decided to check with a different agency, because my insurance agent seemed to act funny.. Took forever to get me a renewal quote and also never got me quotes from another companies.
Guess what, had a different agency run my numbers and they got me a policy with Northland for $32.5k.
It's the same as car insurance. You get comfortable and they keep raising the prices little by little, claiming it on inflation or something, yet when you check with somebody else 2-3 years later, surprisingly you get a much better price -
That's good advice. That's an extra 10k you just put in your pocket potentially.mp4694330, DUNE-T and Midwest Trucker Thank this.

Regular is around 3.29 here right now. Steadily going up.
Side note I just signed up with NASTC and was approved for the Wex Fleet one card. If all turns out well then Comdata will be no longer. Still going to carry Comdata for a while though to make sure any bugs are worked out and that we don’t go over our credit line.
Hopefully some big discounts coming!Last edited: Jun 2, 2021
PPLC Thanks this. -
About to have an insurance meeting here in a bit. I’m making them get me the quote at least 30 days out from renewal. That’s another trick it seems like is that they wait until 2 weeks out and you have no choice. That’s good info though thanks. I’m with GW too.

Do you give them your IFTA records? I had one ask when I was getting quotes last year.Last edited: Jun 2, 2021
PPLC Thanks this. -
Yes, that’s pretty standard. My assumption is that it gives them insight into where you run, and how many miles you run. This helps determine risk.ProfessionalNoticer Thanks this.

Yep and that was pissing me off. My friend, who is an insurance broker, said that they always have a renewal quote 1-2 months before the expiration and the agent is just playing games. Also Great West has the highest commission percentage, so people try to get carriers stick with them as much as they canPPLC, Midwest Trucker and ProfessionalNoticer Thank this.

I use Tina Sams at WHA Insurance. She's great with Great West but they'll certainly shop around for you too. GW really is tough to beat though. My renewal isn't until August but they're already working on my quote now.
Midwest Trucker Thanks this. -
Yes, that's normal.ProfessionalNoticer and Midwest Trucker Thank this.
