Well, I talked to the Utility Trailer salesman where I bought my 2016 53' dry van new. Asked him what he thought I should ask for my trailer. He said 25k and my phone will ring off the hook. He said they have absolutely ZERO inventory and are sold out into next year already. He said buyers are going to be in shock when they found out how much new trailers are going to cost next year on new orders.

I'd list it for 30k and see what happens. Wouldn't be surprised if someone ponied up the extra just to get it now vs. having to wait.

Another thing to be concerned about is that the van trailer theft is on the raise. Better make sure you somehow secure the kingpins, unscrew the cranks, come up with some safety antitheft valves, and best park it at the secured areas. I heard horrible stories, that they can even chain pull a tractor from underneath the trailer and steal it.

It is easier to order and be delivered a reefer than a van. Prices for vans can easily go up to 40-45K next year alone. The same goes for parts, overhaul kits and tires. That's why a little cool down would moderate these things.

I'm thinking I should package the truck and trailer together for 90k.

That's good. Thieves will always thrive in big agglomerations such as Chicago. The scumbags are bold too, they don't care about cameras and people around. They can causally hook up to a dropped trailer in a bright daylight and just go back to their thief hole.

Just with till rates take a dump again, you'll be able to get used equipment for half off what they are now.

No kidding. The local Arrow Truck Sale dealer offered 2019 Volvo with 350K on it for $120K. You are more generous than reasonable, I'd say. LOL
