The rates seem to be holding nicely, but with inflation in the air, keep a close eye on rising costs. With petroleum products rising, insurance rates increasing, cost of repairs, food, tires, you name it, are all rising as well. Watch out for the steady rate, rising cost gotcha, it sneaks up and pummels businesses during inflationary times. In the late 70's it killed business' all across the country.

Rates came back to a very good status. This week $7400 on 1900 miles. Next week will be at about 8K on 2500 miles.
I decided not to become an Indian cab driver and I'm staying busy. This is America. I am booked till the July 29th. Still pre booked on lanes that I know and places I frequently go to. Staying comfortable. If nothing happens, I'll have a record month of exceeding 30K in revenue on about 12 000 miles. Gazebo is gotta wait.
The toughest part is when I come home for a day or two and then I need to leave...so soon and too soon. It would be so much easier not coming home at all.

Those scraps were cream of the crop 2 years ago and they will be again when things settle down.

Rates are still screaming here in the west. I'm locked into contract freight right now, but I still throw bids on Convoy loads just to see how high they will go. Bid one out of Reno to Seattle for this morning at $7.50 per mile and they accepted it. Too bad I couldn't take it.

It has to be the rainiest July on record so far for this month here in the Midwest. It reminds me of a rainy May. Which is very odd for July.

There is a worth watching logging business documentary series on Netflix. From the very loggers to the lumber mill and sales.
Something gallant about that business which is not a walk in the park.
    Nice pictures too.
Maybe it will answer to a point why hauling lumber is not much more than 1 dol per mile.

Did a drop trailer load. Normally don't do them but for 3500 couldn't refuse. Only 100mi from the yard and 6,000LB. Supposed to be ready by Monday at the latest

I would not want to lose the trailer from my eyesight somewhere at a warehouse but that's because I have only one. If it gets lost, I would be downgraded to JB HUNT power only division for quite a few months at best.

    PPDCT and Brettj3876 Thank this.
