When trailers become more available, you should probably buy one just to switch off when the market is better in a certain sector.

Here are the top few reefer loads available on Convoy out of NorCal right now. Not as great as they have been, but still not bad. The closer you get to the pickup time, the higher the rates go. If they're still available 12 hours before pickup, the rates generally go through the roof.

And here are the dry van loads from the same area.

Do you have DAT or just use convoy?

Not using either one because of my contract freight. I have DAT but haven't used it in a year or more. I only use Convoy when something goes sideways on my contract freight.

Have a look see here and there. You might be surprised.

Oh I have no doubt I would be surprised, but I'm still trying to wind down the business and retire. I'm tired of it, and have too much going on at home. Moving my brother back to SC next month and dreading it. Happy to help him, but almost 2 weeks on the road does not sound appealing at all.

Certainly considering picking one up during the next downturn and sitting on it until another boom hits.

Be prepared to sit in it for awhile, I have a feeling when this turns around it’s gonna suck for a good long while.

Plenty of losers out here not killing it at all, fuel needs to go to $6 a gallon to wipe them out.

If fuel goes that high, gas will too and the buying spree will be long over. So will a lot of the freight keeping this industry hopping.
