I've enjoyed the dialogue.....from both sides. I'm not going to weigh in any further except this is what I see as the main reason for all of our problems.

THERE ARE JUST TOO #### MANY OF US

Wasn't true 50 years ago but it is now. Not arguing global warming, the lack thereof or anything else for or against. Anyone who doesn't think that humans are destroying the world has let their mind leave it.

I have two kids I love but I'm glad I didn't have more. I am schooling mine in the reality that the happy little family with normal marriage, kids a job and a quiet vacation at (insert whatever nice place you used to love going to that has been destroyed) is coming to an end in a big hurry.

Wow, sorry to be such a Debbie Downer.

No argument with your logic from me Scotty. There are too many of us. The problem is that our government relies on new workers constantly entering the workforce and paying taxes. Since we no longer have many babies, they need to import new workers by any means necessary, and the current means of opening up our border isn't the answer. Europe tried the same thing with dismal results.

My brother and his wife are leaving California for South Carolina. My son is moving to Oklahoma with his girlfriend, and my daughter is in Oregon raising a family. When my parents are gone I'm out of here as well, probably to a nice spread in Oregon with enough acres where I can't see or hear a neighbor for miles, and hunt/fish on my own property. My youngest daughter and her fiancee want to come with us, and my son said he'll join us at some point in the future as well. I just want to get away from all of the BS and live a quiet existence in the woods with my family around me, then leave it all to them when I'm gone. The world will go on in some fashion after I'm gone, and I figure the further a person is from society the better. I hope I'm right.

I've been off the grid for the past week at 11,000 feet. I'm guessing temperatures were between 50-75, it was perfect up there. I also found out that I've got a huge King Bolete mushroom crop on my property. The chainsaw blade was dull, so I ended up having to use an axe to thin the dead spruce. It was exhausting, but still rewarding. But the best part of the whole week? I didn't hear a single jake brake.

Can't beat routine only 2 nights in the truck. Not really much in Berwick Lol if it's the place I'm thinking of I'm usually out in under 2 hours

Ain't that the truth. It's one of my favorite threads; the meandering nature of it always inevitably wanders back to rates and discussion therein, but we get some fun detours along the way.

Every thread on TTR with more than a few pages takes on a life of its own and few stick with the original subject. Do you think we should still be talking about truck load rates halting their 8 week slide?
