    People get lazy.
The first time, I saw a guy carrying the cross - as he was supposed to....
Then I saw a guy pulling the cross with wheels attached to it.
    Now, they got motorized.

Lostkeys, 4mer trucker, 59EX and 2 others Thank this.

So earlier this week, turbo went down in an ugly way. Oil all over the place, Engine stalled and I had to negotiate my way onto the shoulder while coasting....imagine how easy that was. The last time it happened I was lucky, I could drive as the oil line was intact. Regretfully, back then, I installed a refurbished charger and it lasted only 2 years. Normally, I would not have but I was notified about it post factum.
    Anyway,

1.Towing $1200 (luck it happened 35 miles way from my parking)
    2.Turbo charger: $4100
    3. Actuator: $700
    4. Truck Rental to deliver the load - otherwise the production would have stopped (as I was told): $800 it was a trip to OH 470 miles Load paid $2300
5/6/7. Labor + other put off repairs while it was at the shop...$2500

Total: $9300 ---lots of stress too. For instance, finding the actuator was not such a slam dunk...

That's how it is...not only $$$$ coming in but also getting out.

    P.S.
    O my goodness!! I l spent so much money!!!:(:mad::mad::mad::eek:
Kidding...but yeah it sucks and hurts when it happens. Imagine how may things or how much fun you can have for 10 G....For instance, luxurious month long vacations at a Caribbean resort. Or you could buy a used but decent Harley motorcycle....ha ha.

You got lucky finding a rental quick. That seems about avg price for a tow under 100mi.

Good job taking care of the customer and also getting your truck back up quickly.

I was...Pensky and Ryder would not even want to deal with a solo business man...
Pensky says, we don't deal with those who have business registered at home...they need a separate "brick and mortar" location +10G deposit.
    F..em!

I finally arrived last night in SC with my brother's furniture and waiting for him to arrive. Hired some labor and we'll be offloading tomorrow. My God, the humidity down here is unbelievable. It's around 89 out and everything just feels damp.

I noticed a slight shimmy going down the road yesterday and decided to get it checked out at a TA that's local. Looks like I have a bad hub bearing on my right side drive. It's already starting to wear on the tire outer edge. I'll probably find a KW dealer after I leave town Monday and get it fixed. Hopefully I won't spend days in a motel waiting for it to get finished. I refuse to let TA do any work on my truck. I've learned from multiple past mistakes that it's just not worth the risk.

Saw my first lot lizards in several years just walking around the PFJ I'm staying at knocking on doors. Not bad looking or very old, but not my thing.

The funny thing was that I was able to find the rental quicker than they finding someone to transload it, which is what they wanted to do....lol

Ryder won't deal with Sole Props, or so they told me a few months ago but I'm set up with Penske. The 10k deposit is only while you have the equipment. It's refunded upon return. You can even use a credit card if you want.
