I just read that GM is shutting down almost all vehicle production in the US because of the chip shortage. Anybody who hauls loads related to GM might want to find some alternative loads to haul for a while.

Certainly some weird times. I just received a cold call from a realtor wanting to buy my house.
Ruthless, dwells40 and SteveScott Thank this. -

Someone was telling me the other day that Zillow called and bought their house. No idea they had gotten into real estate investing.062 Thanks this.

See, this right here is the ONLY thing that makes me worry about freight slowing down. When you have unprecedented orders for cars, big trucks, etc and to see KW and GM laying off and shutting down is very concerning. If/when it starts happening across other sectors then this economy could plunge into recession.ProfessionalNoticer, Oscar the KW, JonJon78 and 6 others Thank this.

Crap, Michigan is gonna be a ####show again. Couple of years ago, when GM was shutdown, few trucking companies almost went bankruptRuthless, mp4694330, SteveScott and 2 others Thank this.

Had the same call a few days ago myself. We still have a landline and almost nobody calls on it except scammers, so I decided to answer it and he knew my name/address and asked if I wanted to sell my house. I said no, but it kind of made me scratch my head. Still a lot of speculators out there buying up everything in sight.Brettj3876, Dale thompson, Lostkeys and 2 others Thank this.

The article I read said the shutdown is for two weeks and that the plants with high end vehicles will remain open. I wonder how much of an impact this will have? How many vehicles have they been producing anyways? Most of the plants I go to now don't seem to be doing much. A couple months back I delivered to Ford and was told they were putting the chips in the higher end vehicles first.dwells40 Thanks this.

I got one of those a few weeks back: apparently if i “sell right now, during the HOTTEST the housing market has ever been!” I’ll likely still lose $30k on the purchase price from when I bought it in 2007
Man if I didn’t have bad luck, I tell you what. -

Me also bro. Born to lose. I bought mine January 06. It is what it is.Ruthless Thanks this.

Looks like DAT app is down for maintenance again. Funny that power.dat.com always works, but many people don't know about it and just patiently wait for hours for the app to start working again
KB3MMX, PPLC, 86scotty and 1 other person Thank this.
