Is it really possible to say that we, out of all poeple, have any reasons to complain about sales and profits now?
As soon as the answer is yes, I'll be the first one to jump on a "failed to be received by buyer" volvo or a new Utility trailer for a normal price.
I am good for it any time.
As long as they want my 5 year old dry van for 40k, I take it as no.

For example last week I had a truck in Easton, PA and another in Baltimore. I was not able to book anything decent till like 3pm. I don't even remember the last time I had to grind so hard to book something.
The week before I had a truck running IA-MN-WI-IL, also had a hard time getting something good.
On Friday I got Chicago to Detroit for $1700, but lots of loads were going for $1200, brokers were not negotiating and those loads were getting booked fast.
I started prebooking a day or two ahead now vs getting something the day off, the load board volume is disappearing way too fast for me to play last minute games anymore.
I personally got used to low hanging fruit during this year and last few weeks felt like good old days of a constant hustle, which I am not happy to do again.

One thing to consider is the impact of the vaccine mandate. Depending on how hard larger carriers are affected we could see some contract freight hit the market.

I don't have a horse in this race any longer, but I still watch the rates here on the west coast. No sign of slowing on reefer loads out of NorCal, which are still in the $4.5 to nearly $6 per mile range. I just peeked at dry van rates and they're hovering around $3.50 per mile.

The ships will be docked, China will make their #### in sufficient amounts and there'll be too many of us. At that point, the money made now can be reinvested in overhauls, new equipment and so on.. until another good 1-2 years to come
One might say, we're only here for those little good moments amongst times of despair.Dino soar, Lostkeys, Brettj3876 and 1 other person Thank this. -
It's a weird feeling. You get a circle of people that you talk to on internet forums, you get used to them like to people in real life and then when they disappear, it starts feeling kinda empty and strange.
Scooter is gone,Doubleyellow is, Boywander is gone too, few others and especially Farmerbob.
I still sometimes visit old forums where I was very active and it's nice to see old familiar names, but it's not the same when you are not involved in that forum interests every day.

So would a shipper or receiver be considered a starting point or destination? Or are they talking about leaving from a terminal every day? If it’s shippers and receivers how many of us work with zero interaction with people on either end?D.Tibbitt, 062 and Truckermania Thank this.
