Not without a reason they are called urban Coyotes. Sometimes, when I get home in the middle of the night, I can see them wandering on the streets like loose dogs. They shy at anything noisy or bigger than them easily but became pretty brazen in the depths of their excursions. I read an article a while ago about Coyotes crossbreeding with certain wolf races, offspringing something called a Coywolf. A much bigger thing and I think I spotted a few sonsofbitches like that too. In my childhood, we had quite a few wolves in the nearby forests but never coyotes which are native to North and Central America.
The problem is they are on the top of food chain in urban areas, second to humans. Some people freak out and call cops hoping they could come and catch them. It would be better if they took their garbage bins inside their garages in winter time or sealed their trash better. I am sure there are also idiots feeding them for fun. Those animals are after easy food but if they see a chihuahua attached to a string on someone's yard, I guess they wouldn't mind to get it either.

I appreciate it brother. When it finally happened, we were all relieved that her suffering was over. She got covid and the virus came and went, but it has an effect on our brains that can be fatal in the elderly. Mom just went into a mental fog, and never really recovered from it. My dad is 86 and had covid as well, and he is still having headaches and his Afib has gotten much worse since the covid went away. They just implanted a heart monitor into his chest to watch his stats, and may put a pace maker in next week. Both of my parents were vaxxed and boosted, and it did nothing to prevent them from getting or dying from covid, which is no surprise.

That's a tough gig, I'm on the other side of that conversation, 70years old and covid put me into kidney failure. My son moved his family from Florida to Pa to help with things around here. I can't begin to tell him how grateful I am, I'm sure your parents feel the same.

You're one of the lucky ones. We had an agency bring in a woman to help out with my mom at night a couple weeks before she died, and she let us know how lucky our family is to have children willing to help out. She said that over 90% of the homes she goes into, it's just her and the person needing help. They die with a stranger taking care of them and no family around. Having kids and raising them right pays off in the end. We always had a very close family. While we were dealing with my mom, my mother in law moved into my house so my wife can take care of her. My two brother in laws could care less, and haven't lifted a finger to assist in any way, including cleaning out her house and helping get it sold. My wife says she wasn't the greatest mom, but my wife feels obligated to help and she's doing what needs to be done.

Let your son and his family know how much you appreciate their help. You obviously raised him right, and he's showing his appreciation now that you need him. Good luck with your health brother.

I just looked at Convoy reefer loads in my area for the first time in a couple months. Rates are way down compared to when I retired in October. Looks like most of the loads are at $3 to $3,50 per mile. With diesel prices sky high at the moment, I'm glad I got out. That sucks.
