I have stayed home for a week now. The longer I am at home the more comfortable I get and much less I want to go out there and do anything.
On Sunday, I was traveling to a friends' picnic, on my way there, in the village of Mundelein, IL we were stopped by the 4th of July parade...We got out from the car and enjoyed the show...only in America these parades have this charm and natural fun....
I live in Northwest Suburbs of Chicago - 18 miles from Highland Park, IL. The same kind of parade was there yesterday, when the tragedy happened. Don't you hate it when it only takes one sick lunatic who can bring tragedy on so many people enjoying life?!

 

I'm the opposite. I've been stuck at home for just over a year now and I'm dying to get back to work. Give me that open highway.

 

I wonder how Chicago feels about their gun violence? 57 people were shot over the weekend and 9 dead just inside Chicago alone. Illinois seems to have a massive gun violence problem.

 

The City of Chicago and places like Highland Park are completely different with crime rates. It would be the last place to expect for something like that to happen but not any more, unfortunately.

 

Perhaps some good news is on the horizon. Oil speculators are seeing the price per barrel drop as fears of a recession grow stronger. Most people already think we're in a recession, so as oil falls fuel prices will follow suit very soon. Hopefully O/O's will get some relief at the pump in the coming weeks. I filled my F-150 yesterday here in Cali and it was $6.35 per gallon. Diesel is $.50 cents a gallon higher than that out here on average. Glad I'm not filing my T680 any longer. Now if freight rates would just go up.

 

The pump price hasn’t dropped around here, but the discount has increased. I fueled up this morning for $4.83.

$4.87 2 days ago in central VA, and $4.86 there coming back through today. I was off the last couple of weeks but super glad to see this anywhere, anytime, anyhow considering I paid 6.19 in PA in a crunch a couple weeks back before I took off.
