Got back from my biking/camping trip and got my first half figured up. Nothing spectacular, but really not that much different than last year. Revenue on 62853 miles was 149178.06. So 2.37 a mile to my truck after lease.
fuel and def 41328.57
Wages for 22 weeks working 17600
Truck payment 12485.70
Trl rent 4070.00
Insurance 4307.44
Maintenance 3863.85
Truck washes 1290.28
Tolls 492.15
Hotels 760.43
For a total of 86198.42 leaving me with 62979.64, or $1 a mile. And before someone says something about my wages, I’m a sole prop. I put $800 a week in my personal bank account for every week I work. The rest stays in the truck account.

As to be expected, the load I picked up in Omaha today wasn’t the best. But it gets me back to MN so I can be back in the loop. Loading for Dayton OH tomorrow.
I finally got my light panels installed. I also replaced my steer axle shocks. One was leaking and was warrantied, had to buy the other one. Other than that not much happened to this thing other than sitting in my driveway while I was running around having fun.
Sometimes it’s the little things that a company does that mean quite a lot. Like letting me take a trailer home for nearly a month and not charging me trailer rent. I figured I’d have to bobtail home because I was going to be off so long but they said go ahead and take it home.

My wife and I delivered in New Orleans Monday. Got a room, stayed 2 nights. Wanted to stay another. So nice, TV, A/C, 2 showers per day, Lol. Back to reality. Checked out, at 1:00, after looking all morning for a decent load. No Luck. Got ready to leave, checked the board, and a Load pops up. Going to mid Ohio for $2600. Fair enough. Now I need a Friday weekend run. Trucking is starting to take its toll. After 4-5 days running hard, I need a day or two off. Might have to hang it up soon. You’d think I’d have had enough, and look forward to quitting. I still enjoy it too much for my own good. I’m going to keep Trucking till they tell Me I can’t.

I'm the same after a week, ready to go home for a minute. 34's in the truck are no different than work for me.Midwest Trucker, TallJoe, dwells40 and 1 other person Thank this. -

We're in the middle of summer time and we deal with the rate stagnation for the 3rd consecutive month.
It resembles 2019. Historically, things should get more life towards the end of August.
I do these short, up to 200 - 300 miles, runs. Those pay from $900-$1300. Some a little more, some a little less, depending on the day. I personally prefer to deliver and reload every other day, not every day like this but if I make 4 runs like that a week at 1000 miles, the revenue is better than from making two runs at 1500 miles. It is more hassle but less mileage.
For the poor rate times consolation, I started using the mudflap app last week. I am impressed. Easy to use and discounts are awesome. Better than my Fleet One Edge card as of late... For example, $4.89 in Russell (Wadsworth), IL WOW! Thanks to @Long FLD for mentioning it in the other thread. It pays off to visit this site sometimes.D.Tibbitt, 86scotty, SteveScott and 3 others Thank this. -
