Heading to id now and hitting snow as well with 22 mph winds at the moment. Been as high as 29 and consistent yesterday and today. Warning for up to 60 mph burst. I am only 8000 lbs so have to watch what the hell I am doing.

It seems customers are starting to lean on their carriers. Rates are being looked at as fuel included yet not considered that we’re paying those crazy fuel numbers. Line hauls are coming down. It’s inevitable but starting to happen from my POV.

you know, i been doing a certain run for a customer for a few years. It goes once a week/ i moved from $1325 to $1400 when fuel went up to about where it is now.
Aint been moving on my trucks in the last 4 weeks..... i see it on the board every week now starts at $600, highest i have seen is $900. Disappears every week at some point..
i wasnt overcharging at $1400.Rideandrepair, Kenworth6969, mp4694330 and 5 others Thank this. -
I feel fine because of the rapport and golf rounds (beer drinking) I’ve done with the high up bosses, not to mention years of service but I do get a bit ticked when procurement tests the bottom feeders as benchmarks against us top flight companies.Rideandrepair, mp4694330, dwells40 and 3 others Thank this. -

What @Ruthless said.
Up until 2 months ago we were doing a run that moved 7-10 times a month, usually towards the end of the month when they wanted to stock up and their company trucks couldn't keep up. Was 1300, now they only wanna pay a 1000 and want it to be a drop trailer. An extra 100 miles tacked on for 300 less. Nope.
May have found a bigger company to cover it but I haven't seen it on the boards.
Another local 100mi load I was doing usually 2x a week or so that hasn't been on the boards in over a month. Probably going on the brokers own trucks since they're main carrier out of thereLast edited: Nov 12, 2022
