My son-in-law is the one on the right. He helped his buddy track this bear Friday.

I was born and raised in CA. My dad wasn't into hunting, fishing and such.
These native born boys born in Oregon, raised in the country are formidable outdoorsmen. My youngest daughter married that kid on the right. His family comes from a multi-generational background of hunters. He has taught my daughter how to hunt, track, shoot guns and arrows in the past few years.
She's become pretty good at it...
What's funny, is that I've never even owned a gun, until recently

Sounds like my daughter, except I did take her fishing a lot growing up, I never hunted after my kids were born. She's married and pregnant in southern Oregon to a hard core hunter who's taught her how to bow hunt and shoot. Spent the weekend with them in January and they took me trap shooting expecting that they would both embarrass me and bragging how good they were. It's been over 30 years since I've shot trap, but I still managed to hit 48 out of 50 shooting circles around them. This old fart still has it, and it shut them up quickly.

Hey there Oscar, I checked the lane from Minneapolis to Dallas for you again this morning, cause you know, checking it over Easter was really a stupid thing of me to do after all.

Another friend of mine's wife is an avid hunter. He sent this pic to me yesterday. His wife tagged this bear a couple of years ago, he said it weighed out at 585 lbs.Dale thompson, mp4694330 and PPLC Thank this.

Hell of a bear, man. I dig.

I agree, that's a monster.

Few years back, wife and I were staying at a cabin back in Kentucky, where I'm from. Love my wife to death, but she's not exactly the most outdoor-savvy person in the world. There was a big ol' black bear over rummaging through the trash can of a nearby cabin, and all she wanted to do was step out on the deck we were on. It was one of those, "Maybe don't" moments. Granted, black bears aren't exactly what I'd call the most ferocious critters in the world, but still- I'm not interested in having to deal with that, even on accident.SteveScott and Scooter Jones Thank this.
