I have never used a free load board, but if there is any fraud going on in the freight market, it could very well be happening in free load boards where they may not be thoroughly screening brokerage companies and motor carriers.

Imagine booking a load and delivering it to only be told by the supposed brokerage company that they were not involved in that transaction. Now you’ll have to waste your time in court trying to get paid.

    D.Tibbitt and Bakerman Thank this.

Wannabe owner op buddy of mine sometimes sends me screenshots of loads that he sees in free boards. Funny though, if I search the lane on DAT it’s not even close. I’d say free load boards have caused many to buy trucks.

Those free loadboards must be made for the poorest truckers...literally.

$30-$50 buys you a workable load board such as cheaper versions of DAT or 123 loadboard.
Many major brokerages have their own loadboards too and those are completely free.

I see guys on YouTube championing those load boards. Then tell how they maintain a $1.25 a mile buisness.
