and all that road use tax goes into the general fund, for all the politicians to take out, for thier own personal projects.

i also see this stupid tolling system to be arbitrary (tolling only one segment of users) when thousands of cars are ever more present on all roads.

if the states paid top dollars for quality work, the roads across this country would last for at least 50 years till they have to be done over again.

cheap bids, cheap products, insufficient base thickness, and top coats, and poor quality steel are all to blame, if only to charge high dollars for them and pad the CEO's of the construction companies.

it truly is not a fair tolling system.

one can easily come up I-95 in CT, take 395 (N) to Rt 6, and be on one's way, making any deliveries easy-peasy.

i once thought so as well.

however, if any state can show proof they are maintaining a federally funded highway, they can be allowed to toll that road.

The problem is Rhode Island took that into account. They know truck drivers will try to avoid the toll gantries on I-95 so in addition to that highway they’re planning toll gantries on EVERY TRUCK ROUTE IN and OUT of the state-and US 6 is on that list,Governor Raimondo knew what she was doing.
Truckers say they'll take escape routes to avoid proposed R.I. tolls

R.I. plan would make large trucks pay tolls on 17 to 20 bridges
